Hittin' the Trail Day Hiking Grand Canyon National Park Hittin' the TrailArizona eBook Rob Bignell
If you haven't considered hiking the Grand Canyon, you will after you read this book. So many guide books are written in a static, robotic style. Not this one! In addition to giving everything you need to know about hiking the Grand Canyon, the author also throws in a bit of geological philosophy. His love of the Grand Canyon radiates throughout this book. The challenges in hiking this country are many but Bignell's covers all of the important ones such as high altitude, limited shade, resting spots and places for the best views of the canyon; as well as the essentials of how to find the trail head or where "Queeno" and "Fido" are welcome and can go unleashed. Bignell also covers some of the less traveled hiking opportunities on the North Rim and elsewhere around the canyon. I am an avid hiker and a lover of the southwest. If there are any flaws in Rob Bignell's guidebook, I can't find them.
